So, I found a few more maps of interest to me, thanks to help from quite a few other people on Flickr...

PHOTOS: Place d'Orléans Mall in Happier Days
Back before we'd all been rudely reminded that we share the world with coronaviruses...at a mini-convention organized by the local comics shop, Entertainment Ink. They're still working on getting their new business model of delivery set up as I write this entry. If you're in Orléans and you're interested, post a comment. I'll flag this entry to the owners' attention.

SmithBooks No More
It was "W.H. Smith Books" when I moved to Ottawa in 1985. Back then, they had three times the floor space for the store itself and a spiral staircase to the basement for staff to bring stock up to the shelves. As bookstore chains went, they were as high-end as Ottawa got.
Having been swallowed up into the Chapters-Indigo maw, and with a Chapters "box" on the other side of Confederation Square from the Sparks Street Mall, however, that may have been the end of it for this long-serving storefront.

In case you thought I'd forgotten I have this blog...forget that idea.
Lest you be deemed even more foolish than this bird here...

From 2010: ParLUGment at Railfest 33
If memory serves, this was my first real exposure to what dedicated Lego hobbyists could and do put together when they put their brains and their backs into a project. Had no idea how deep Lego fandom can run.

Ottawa Small Press Book Fair
Here we go...one more time!
I'll be back at Rob McLennan's latest instalment of the Ottawa Small Press Book Fair this Saturday.
I've got a list of what I'll be selling here at my Livejournal, if you're interested. Hoping to see lots of friendly faces on Saturday!

Jian Ghomeshi - 1982 - WritersFest Fall 2012
Jian Ghomeshi - 1982 - WritersFest Fall 2012, a set on Flickr.
I previously blogged about this one via "On the DEWLine" on Livejournal. If you listen to CBC Radio One in Canada or Public Radio International in the States, you know about his radio talk show, Q. On this night, he was wearing his author's jacket, in support of his autobiography/dramedy, 1982.
Here's the pix.
